Where and how do you find inspiration?
This is the question readers explore in an open call for submission in this issue of the magazine. My creative brief asked, “If inspiration were a place, draw a map or create a diagram about how to find it.”
When I come up with ideas for the open calls, I have a general concept in mind, but I’m never sure what I’m going to get! The interpretation of the open calls is always up to readers’ imaginations.
I hosted an online presentation to walk through the theme and offer some insight into my own way of thinking. My presentation sketches and notes are published in UPPERCASE #71 on pages 40–41; refer to them while you watch the replay!
Then, create your own map or diagram so that you will always have a path to finding inspiration.
